Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture custom oligonucleotides for our customers using established protocols.

  • Accurately and effectively complete basic equipment tasks including, but not limited to, reagent filling, synthesizer set-up and operation of several different synthesis platforms, synthesizer maintenance, laboratory clean-up, and planning based on priorities.

  • Conduct quality control testing using HPLC, LCMS, UV-VIS spectroscopy, and as needed for determining synthesizer success and failure rate.

  • Ability to review analytical data to determine quality of oligonucleotides.

  • Collect requested data and communicates them to Supervisor.

  • Prioritize workload to meet customer need and new product launches.

  • Cross-train to ensure the capability to complete the primary tasks in each of the Custom Manufacturing laboratories, including, but not limited to, Custom Oligonucleotide Synthesis and Post Synthetic Processing.

  • Maintain proper inventory for custom amidites and modifications and work closely with Chemistry team to determine needs and usage.

  • Maintain proper lab maintenance and upkeep per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and 5S standards.

  • Assist in the training of new and current employees and provide guidance for error prevention.

  • Fulfill other trainings, tasks and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.

  • Comply with all EH&S regulations and policies.

  • Must be willing to work in a lab with hazardous chemicals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences.

  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expanded understanding with laboratory standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistries, modifications and methodologies.

  • Ability to learn, troubleshoot, and operate specialized laboratory equipment, computers, and instrumentation software.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced analytical skills using Microsoft Excel, with proficient data entry and typing skills.

  • Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the talent for teamwork.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.

  • Ability to learn, troubleshoot, and operate specialized laboratory equipment, computers, and instrumentation software.

  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.

  • Ability to regularly move items weighing 30-60 pounds, with or without accommodation.

Compensation Range:

The base salary for this full-time position is $67,000. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
