At REVIVA we are looking for a talented individual driven to work on a team in a fast - paced environment dedicated to excellence and superior customer satisfaction. We have provided high quality re-manufactured diesel and gas engines and components for over 70 years. A family owned and operated company that has grown into the largest independently owned and operated engine re-manufacturer in North America. We have a 1st Shift Machining Position located in Portland Oregon.

Summary:

In this role, you'll play a vital role in the production of high-performing engine components by performing machining operations and operating mill and boring bar machines. Your responsibilities will involve adhering to detailed work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate component creation. You'll leverage various tools and equipment to precisely machine parts to specification, while maintaining strict quality control standards.

.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for basic set up and machining of engine blocks, making tooling changes when necessary and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Use measuring tools such as micrometers, Calipers, gauges to read and measure accurate specifications.
  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
  • Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled.
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
  • Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations..
  • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.

Qualifications:

  • 2 year of machining, preferably Boring Bar operation or manual machining.
  • Proficient understanding of lathes, mills, grinders, and/or CNC operation
  • General understanding of metal characteristics and grades
  • Experience using inspection tools including gauges, micrometers, and calipers- required.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.

Shift/hours: 7 AM to 3:30 PM Monday- Friday

Work Environment/Physical demand:

Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing settingThe environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times.
