Job Description

The DevOps Manager is responsible for overseeing the growth and day-to-day operations of the DevOps team to ensure they are productive, on target with company goals, and constantly improving. They are also responsible for overseeing the development of our CICD pipeline, system application maintenance and scheduling of deployments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting guidance to team members
• Maintain system application infrastructure
• Schedule deployments within SDLC
• Periodically review for process improvements within application support infrastructure
• Keep team accountable for deadlines and scheduled deployments
• Mentor team to maintain unified communication
• Identify individual goals and expectations for team advancement and ensure performance requirements are met
• Identify monitoring and maintenance tooling opportunities in application design
• Coordinate Batch Active improvement/bug focuses
• Work alongside IT to schedule and perform system maintenance and upgrades
• Provide application support to internal customers
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Technical problem-solving skills
• 1-3 years leadership role experience required
• 1-3 years SQL or other database query language preferred
• 1-3 years Linux/Bash preferred
• Experience troubleshooting in a live production environment preferred
• Experience with large datasets preferred
• Experience with high volume, mission critical applications
• Experience with version control (GIT, CVS)
• Experience with containerization
• Experience with object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience in a troubleshooting role preferred
• Strong understanding of development best practices
• Able to read/write Java/C#
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Education/Experience

A bachelor's degree is not required, but preferred. More than anything, RMS is looking for people who are passionate about technology who want to develop the skills to solve hard and important problems.

Experience with above or any programming language is not required, but it is strongly preferred and suggested.

Applicants should have at least 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role.
