Title: Community Coach for Adults with Autism and I/DD

Term: Full Time

Pay: $20-$24/hour Part Time; $41,600 - $49,920 DOE; Salary is determined based off of hours/week worked.
Bonus: Employees are eligible for bonuses based on meeting identified targets

General Description: Community Coach is responsible for leading person centered groups and activities for people with I/DD throughout the week(Monday-Friday). Our groups are taught in small to medium groups of up to 10 people and in natural settings focused on client values and interests. Many activities take place in community settings or at our building with outside providers teaching areas of interest. Activities are focused on social engagement and having fun! Examples include hiking, trampoline parks, aquariums, zoos, drama, art, and more! This position is best suited for someone who is very social, high energy and engaging!

Primary Objectives and Duties of The Job:
Connections & Communication:

● Establish rapport and develop relationships and connections with individual clients
● Use age appropriate language with all clients
● Uses a variety of modes of communication to engage clients and deliver instruction

Group Programming:
● Uses various strategies to keep individuals engaged and motivated throughout each activity
● Support/Assist Lead with delivering group instruction to people with varying abilities
● Work directly with participants to achieve personal goals and promote social relationships
● Engage mentors/volunteers for appropriate program activities using established mentor management practices
● Uses naturalistic teaching in group settings
● Implement various strategies with several individuals at a time to support group activities and enriching interactions
● Transport participants and mentors to activities in REVEL van. At times individual vehicles may have to be used.
● Be trained in safety care protocols and implement procedures accurately and effectively

● Receive supervision from a BCBA/Program Manager and work collaboratively as a team

Professionalism:
● Accepts feedback and responds by changing behavior
● Communicates regularly with Lead BCBA/Consultant about any issues you are experiencing with a client, family/caregiver or employer
● Works positively and collaboratively as a team member. Implements REVEL’s communication policy by openly, clearly, and kindly communicating concerns to one another.

● Engages in appropriate behavior with board of directors, staff, clients, mentors, volunteers and supporters in and outside of work

● Adhere to organization policies and procedures
● Attend scheduled REVEL team meetings and separate client meetings

Experience Needed/Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree or pursuing degree in psychology, education, communication disorders, special education, behavior analysis, behavior science, or a related field
● Ideally looking for someone with at least 1-2 years of experience in a related field providing ABA therapy, special education services, or therapeutic services
● Willingness to learn new therapeutic skills, focusing on naturalistic intervention in various settings
● Use critical thinking skills to make decisions and be flexible and problem solve in the moment
● A love of learning and teaching, and a desire to continue to grow and advance
● Physically able to perform job responsibilities (active movement, lifting up to 40 lbs.)
● Mode of reliable transportation and pass a motor vehicle and criminal background check
● CPR/First Aid preferred
● We are looking for a range of days and hours. Times needed are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30 and potential other hours are Tues, Wed, Thurs 3:00pm - 6:30pm and Saturdays 9:30am - 3:30pm.
