Retina Consultants of Austin is seeking a full-time ophthalmic technician to join our team. As a technician, you will work directly with patients and the physicians daily. The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, efficiency, and accuracy.

Duties include:

• Screening patients - taking patient histories and chief complaint, collection and review of all patient medication, collection and review of patient medical history visual acuity testing, confrontational visual field testing, pupil testing, tonometry , instillation of dilating drops, answering patient’s question
• Assisting the physician - scribing with physician, setting up procedures, assisting with procedures, returning patient calls, prescribing medications as directed by the physician, scheduling surgery
• Diagnostic testing - OCT, autofluorescence, fundus photography, visual fields
• Daily use of electronic medical record software
• Other tasks as assigned
