Retail Technologies, Inc. - Media & Supplies Sales Representative
Retail Technologies, Inc. (RTI) is a solutions company specializing in shelf edge printing and marketing to self-service retail businesses nationwide including grocery, convenience, pharmacy, beverage, hardware, sporting goods, specialty, general merchandise, and other formats. We have been serving retail and wholesale customers in all 50 states and abroad for over 35 years. We provide industry-leading sign and label printing software solutions, shelf edge labels, talkers, and cardstock display signage products. In addition, RTI provides printer hardware and supplies and shelf fixtures to facilitate all display signage. We offer the complete package solution to empower retailers to engage their customers at the point of decision.
Daily Responsibilities/Duties will include:
• Assisting sales teams in answering incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate person/dept.
• Making outbound developmental sales calls to current customers and prospects/leads – 25 calls per day on average.
• Order entering and processing of eCommerce, Call-in, and Email orders for our shelf edge media products, printer supplies, and software maintenance & support.
• Updating customers with order confirmations, tracking/delivery info.
• Working with our CRM software/customer database INFOR and bookkeeping software, QuickBooks, to manage customer accounts and sales.
• Working closely with RTI employees in other departments to service the customer – We are a computer software company, so a lot of our inbound calls are software related concerns to be appropriately directed or routed. RTI manufactures all the shelf edge media we offer so we’re working closely with our production and shipping team staff on a daily basis with media orders and opportunities.
• Working closely with RTI vendors and distributors to facilitate product fulfillment and distribution/delivery to the end user (customer location).
• Must be a clear communicator
• Telephone sales skills a must.
• Polite, friendly, and a self-starter – upon training, a continual phone/email outreach to engage the customer and offer our best fitting products and solutions – this is a consultative sales position.
• Excellent Customer Service and Customer Retention Skills necessary.
• CRM efforts to help RTI maximize customer lifetime value – phone call, email blast, and other marketing initiatives.
• Entering and transferring data in our sales database.
• Assembling promotional and marketing materials for mail-outs and trade shows.
• Assisting our shipping department with outbound orders and incoming deliveries (administrative tasks).
• Assisting software sales teams in occasional promotional or marketing phone calls, upcoming trade show invites, etc.
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree and Retail experience preferred – though we do not have a physical store front, we do have an ecommerce site/store and process daily orders for direct fulfillment to customers in 50 states and abroad. All our customers are retail stores, so it helps to have some experience in retail to understand and learn our unique product mix to be effective at offering the best solutions.
• The ability to use MS Windows OS including apps like Outlook and Office suite is a must; experience with CRM INFOR, Sales Force and QuickBooks preferred.
Weekly Hours are:
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Weekends and major holidays are off.
Compensation: Salary starts at $35,000 base with Quarterly Bonus Opportunities ranging from $2K to $4K quarterly to reach $40-$50K annually to start.
