Kindergarten Teacher Job purpose 

The Kindergarten Teacher will, under the direction and supervision of the Director, plan, implement and help evaluate classroom curriculum and create an environment that aligns with RLCDC’s purpose and philosophy and curriculum.

Kindergarten Teacher Essential functions

1. Implements policies in accordance with the purpose of RLCDC and the mission of the Church.
2. Maintains and models a professional culture in the school and classroom. This will include but is not limited to:
   • Being punctual.
   • Maintaining structure and consistency in classroom.
   • Informing the school administration of any hazard or unsafe practice.
   • Speaking to parents, children and coworkers in a respectful, non-sardonic manner.
3. Creates and implements an organized lesson plan using a grace-based classroom management system.
4. Teaches all curricular areas assigned following the designated curricular framework.
5. Assesses and evaluates student academic and social growth according to established procedures.
6. Provides immediate and specific feedback to students regarding their academic progress.
7. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and assisting students to solve learning, attitude and health problems.
8. Communicates with students and parents through conferences and written reports.
9. Maintains the required continuing education profile of 18 units per year in the appropriate subject areas.

Kindergarten Teacher Rewards

Kindergarten Teacher Qualifications

1.  Four-year degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.
2. Minimum of two years of classroom experience in a public or private school.
3. Currently certified or willing to become certified in the State of Arizona
4. Early childhood endorsement preferred
5. National Board Certification preferred.
6. Current Portfolio of lessons and units of study taught preferred. 
7. Possess or be willing to get a fingerprint clearance card with a clean report.
8. Knowledge of the characteristics of student's learning process, curriculum and instruction, and classroom management skills.
9. Creativity and strong lesson planning skills.
10. Energetic, flexible and reliable and a passion for children.
11. Willingness to implement school curricula. 
12. Familiar with STEAM philosophies and concepts.
13. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
14. Knowledge of all state regulations, personnel policies of RLC and RLCDC and willingness to comply with same.

Kindergarten Teacher Working conditions

Works primarily in RLCDC classrooms and playground and occasionally on the RLC campus. 

Physical requirements

1. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
2. Must be able to get up and down from floor.
3. Must be able to go up and down stairs.
