Job Summary and Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of occupational therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients, in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Occupational Therapist completes patient assessments, and participates in developing and implementing individualized care plans, focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Occupational Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient’s physical therapy to support patients throughout home health and the continuum of care.

What you will do in this role:

  • Creates an environment and culture that enables the Rehabilitation Department to fulfill the mission of the hospital and meet or exceed its goals.
  • Provides input into strategic development initiatives and is responsible for the implementation of the Rehabilitation Department’s strategic plan.
  • Responsible for the financial viability of the Rehabilitation Department, coordinating the submittal of accurate and timely billing and clinical information. Develops and strives for achievement of financial objectives, including the implementation of budgetary guidelines. Supports the Therapy Services Manager in managing the resources of the Rehabilitation Department in an ethical, viable manner. Provides input for the negotiation of rehabilitation specific rates in negotiated payment structures/contracts.
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical staff, assures the development of quality rehabilitation programming to meet market needs.
  • Collaborates effectively with all members of the rehabilitation team within the Rehabilitation Department as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • State licensure
  • BLS
  • Direct rehab experience; one year or more preferred, involving extensive knowledge of rehab/criteria
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/communication skills
  • Excellent organization/time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills; professional appearance
  • Experience in providing educational programs
