ob Title: Afterschool Supervisor Job Category: Human Services Reports to: Programs Administrator Position Type: Full -Time DESCRIPTION: The Afterschool is a full-time position to ensure that all programs meet all licensing, contractual, and quality assurance standards and requirements; recruiting, hiring, evaluating and supervising of all full and part-time staff; insuring that staff receives adequate orientation and professional training; providing performance evaluations; establishing and maintaining positive collaborative relationships with relevant community agencies, overseeing programs’ budgets; coordinating and participating in the quality improvement process and participating in supervisors’ team meetings. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This person will support the Person-Centered philosophy. The worker will work minimally a 40 hour week, Monday – Friday, may include some evenings work. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: This includes Some of the duties include:
Oversee the smooth transition of staff from after school programs to summer camp program.
Adhere to the Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting requirements which mandate by law to report suspicions of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
Ensure systems are in place for the collection of all program-related documentation and is kept current.
Ensure requirements are met to ensure all licensure requirements.
Track participant enrollment and ensure attendance.
Assist Executive Director with the preparation of the annual program budget.
Maintain program budget and accept responsibility for payroll in compliance with TLC guidelines.
Monitor expenditures closely to ensure spending is within budget guidelines.
Participates in special events.
Liaison with other community-based programs (i.e. USDA, DSS, etc.)
Ensure that proper staff to participant ratio is maintained at all times.
Provide appropriate and timely supervision for Afterschool workers and drivers.
Appropriately respond to rule violations or safety concerns during program hours.
Review and amend staff, as needed, documentation (progress notes, etc.).
Be able to competently discuss all cases with staff, supervisors and referral sources.
Able to collaborate and advocate with stakeholders Department of Social Services (DSS), Community Services Boards (CSB), etc.
Maintain all appropriate certifications (medication management, CPR/1st Aid and behavioral interventions)
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
Able to demonstrate high level understanding of confidentiality
Must be 25 or older
Must have a valid state issued driver’s license and insurance
Must have experience in working with children
Be able to lift 50 lbs.,
Able to stay focused for long periods of time
Able to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure
Cannot have any felonies under 7 years with a charge of domestic violence or abuse and involving children
cannot have any previous or current charges of crimes involving children or Domestic Violence or abuse
Able to develop a positive rapport participants, colleagues/ community resources and stakeholders
