Seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Respiratory and Rehabilitation center of Rhode Island, located in Coventry, RI.
Part of Genesis HealthCare, one of the largest providers of skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapy, is GPS, a group practice of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and others. GPS specializes in the holistic care of sub-acute, skilled nursing and long-term stay patients within Genesis HealthCare nursing centers. Quality of life is always the GPS focus, but getting people back to a healthier state is the GPS promise and motivation. GPS handles hospitalist acuity in a sub-acute environment; often completing the plan of care initiated in the hospital.
The Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant assists the GPS Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) or Medical Director to provide quality patient care.
Position Highlights *Coordinate schedules for the Medical Director and APPs taking into account nursing center meetings. *Triage questions to the APPs or Medical Director. *Submit tickets to Genesis IT for technical issues and track progress until resolved. *Maintain calendar to determine weekly rounding schedule for Providers. *Obtain distribution list of attendees, coordinate date/time, schedule meetings, and track of confirmations for meetings initiated by the Medical Director or APP. *Liaise with each nursing center to identify patients requiring visits. *Document visit and note preparation in EHR. *Coordinate and communicate about weekly telehealth vs onsite schedule. *Identify clinical support specialist the day prior to telehealth or onsite visits. *Coordinate telehealth visit with nursing staff prior to patient visits.

Qualifications: *High School Diploma or equivalent and two plus years of related experience is required. *Must be detail oriented and organized. *Must communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with patients. *Proficiency with Google suite and Microsoft Office programs is required. ****Current pre-health or clinical students - this position meets the clinical hour requirements.
