RHD Boston is looking for Community Inclusion Specialists like YOU!Program Summary:RHD Boston provides residential, day, and individual supports to men and women with developmental disabilities in the Greater Boston area. Programs are located in Greater Boston [Roslindale, West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Waltham, Walpole, Arlington, Medford]. Our programs focus on a person-centered planning approach, and much care is given to working with individuals to create homes adapted to meet individual needs. We provide intensive support in the area of life skills, social skills, and community involvement with an emphasis on having fun while pursing personal goals..
What You'll Do:
The Community Inclusion Specialist (CIS) provides assistance to adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism. The CIS creates and facilitates outings designed to promote independence when accessing the community. Other objectives are to increase community involvement, develop new skills, build social ties, and connect participants with relevant opportunities to help meet their larger goals Participants may spend time in the community engaging in anything from cultural activities, social/recreational activities, life skills-based excursions, job exploration, volunteer opportunities, more. The CIS may accompany up to 5 people at a time in the community, using public transportation or in their own personal vehicle.
We have both full time and part time opportunities available, with hours between 10 and 6 Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee participants in the community on a daily basis to achieve their personal goal stake part in activities and/or events.
- Meet the basic needs of our participants while in the community. This may include assistance with other Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required by the participant. Implement ISP’s (Individual Support Plans) and behavior plans, as needed.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of participants’ ISPs and personal needs required to work with them in a meaningful and productive way.
- Maintain tracking of receipts and expenditures for reconciliation.
- Complete all required paperwork, including but not limited to case notes on a regular and timely basis.
- Drive personal vehicle or use public transportation to assist individuals in accessing the community.
- Attend to basic first aid, when needed.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- One year of experience with people with developmental disabilities
- Basic Computer skills using Microsoft Products
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle and clean driving record
Salary: $22 hourly
