Reporting to the Operations Director, the Quality Manager will serve as the expert in leading and overseeing audits - both internal and external - for FDA, Kosher, BRC and GFCO. Will ensure the safety and quality of food products that are delivered to market from the factory. Will instill and maintain a CI culture and will contribute to overall plant performance. Will occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
Owns and updates the QMS. Responsible for achieving KPIs in the areas of quality and hygiene. Will implement GMP instructions and enforce compliance. Ensure compliance with FSMA/FDA and IFS regulations and standards. Responsible for product testing in production and lab analysis. Will review/respond to customer complaints using RCA and taking corrective actions.
This is a very demanding role and not one for the faint of heart. Will be on call 4-6 times a year on the weekend. Will have an extremely important role in the overall management of the plant's quality and hygiene. Must be a strong communicator and be very efficient in all duties. Must have a Bachelors or Masters in food science, food technology, chemistry or
- Detail-orientedbiology and 5-8 years of recent applicable experience in the food industry. Basic mechanical/electrical engineering and utilities, all duties related to following GMP/FSMA food hygiene practices; GFSI certification requirements and FDA requirements.
