We have a direct hire opening for a Maintenance Mechanic in Tukwila at a packaging company specializing in low-density polyethylene film and protective flexible packaging products, such as flat bottom seal bags, gusseted bags, roll stock, and more. 

They use a blown film extrusion process to create the products that meet the high standards of customers in a variety of industries like baking, seafood, meat and poultry, and more.

In this role, you will perform maintenance on plant equipment and the extrusion machines used in the production process.

Direct Hire Opportunity – Be on our client’s payroll from Day 1!

Pay and Shift Information:

• Pay: $26-$36/hour (based on experience and skillset)
• Shift: Train on 1st shift 5 am-1:30 pm for 3 months, then move to night shift; 11 pm-7:30 am; Monday-Friday with overtime when requested 

Job Duties of the Maintenance Mechanic:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems using appropriate tools
• Install, adjust, and repair components like motors, gear boxes, and pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders and valves
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and address work orders as assigned
• Utilize a computer to track, document equipment problems, and manage work orders
• Maintain work areas according to GMP and Food Safety guidelines to prevent product contamination
• Report and correct equipment malfunctions and complete all necessary records of work completed
• Develop maintenance procedures and make tools to facilitate work when documentation is not available

36Job Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic:

• Have 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems
• Use common power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment
• Be skilled in welding processes such as MIG and TIG
• Fabrication using plasma cutters and oxyacetylene torches
