ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit with the mission of waste reduction, job skill training and poverty relief. Its operations are largely funded through its reuse operations. The Store Lead plays a pivotal role in earning this revenue which also supports the charitable donation and training programs.
The Store Lead will report to the Store Manager and help oversee aspects of ReSOURCE’s reuse retail operations and ensure that the organization delivers excellent customer service, minimizes waste and disposal costs, provide reusable items available through ReSOURCE’s Essential Goods Program, and maximizes training for all trainees. Store Leads have authority to assign and delegate tasks to staff, trainees and volunteers assigned to their section by the Store Manager. This will involve effectively communicating with store management about staff, trainee and volunteer progress. Leads will collaborate with the Training Department when trainees and volunteers are placed in their department.
The Store Lead will assume Manager on Duty roles and responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor.
The Front End Lead will be knowledgeable on all functions of the POS cash register systems, including training new staff, documenting and creating steps for complicated functions and performing POS opening and closing procedures. The Front End Lead will also ensure staff provide excellent customer service and will resolve customer issues. This will include communications with Store Merchandising Leads and the Trucking, Computer and Appliance Supervisors to ensure staff are trained on transactions with related products and services; the Accounting Manager for cash management and issues with customer accounts; and communicating with internal IT staff to keep the POS system functioning smoothly and easily for customers and staff.
Goals of Position
· Support the store manager in effectively managing store operations and contribute to a positive work environment
· Provide opportunities for materials to be reused and recycled, and minimize items thrown into landfills.
· Make goods available through ReSOURCE’s Essential Goods Program.
· Support ReSOURCE’s training programs that use the retail stores as classrooms to teach job skills.
· Contribute to the financial health of the organization by maximizing revenue and minimizing costs.
· Deliver excellent customer service and make sure the store is fun, friendly and customer and donor oriented.
· Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
Essential Functions
· Ability to stand and bend throughout the work day.
· Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds through the work day and up to 100 pounds using a hand truck.
· Ability to safely use hand and power tools including hand truck.
· Ability to read, write and perform simple math to complete paperwork and customer transactions.

Position Responsibilities
Effective Operation of Store
· Rotate opening and closing shifts, secure store, and develop effective operating procedures.
· Handle department-related customer questions, inquiries and be a spokesperson for the department.
· Effectively manage priorities to meet multiple commitments.
· Work closely with store management to ensure proper staff coverage and anticipate seasonal needs.
· Supervise daily performance of assigned staff and report any performance concerns to Store Manager.
Help Supervise and Support Trainees and Volunteers
· Work with store management to coordinate and supervise daily work of trainees.
· Help supervise, train and support volunteers and trainees, ensuring that every individual is personally accountable for their actions and is thanked for their help.
· Effectively communicate with the Store Manager and Training Department on trainee and volunteer progress.
· Teach volunteers about store operations, effective customer service, and other necessary job skills.
· Role model professional behavior for all volunteers and trainees.
Maintain a Safe Workplace
· Create and maintain safe working practices. These practices should reflect ReSOURCE and OSHA safety policies.
· Use proper personal protective equipment.
· Report unsafe working conditions to department manager or Operations Director or HR Director.
· Actively participate in department meetings to identify and correct hazards before accidents happen.
Perform Other Duties as Assigned
