The Gate Guard will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment for our trucking operations, monitoring for potential security threats, and implementing measures to mitigate risks effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas of the yard to deter and detect unauthorized access or suspicious activities.
• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing trucks and trailers to prevent theft, tampering, or damage.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment to promptly identify and respond to security breaches or emergencies.
• Perform routine checks of perimeter fencing, gates, and access points to ensure they are secure and functional.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents, including thefts, vandalism, accidents, or disturbances, and report findings to management as required.
• Assist with the implementation and enforcement of company security policies and procedures, including access control protocols and visitor management systems.
• Provide assistance and support to truck drivers and other employees to address security concerns or issues effectively.
• Assist drivers in the yard for equipment location if necessary.
• Accept trucks back in and out of the flow.
• Follow Supervisor, Fleet’s plan on truck assignments and assist with keeping yard organized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security or law enforcement preferred.
• Proven experience working as a guard, preferably in a transportation or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and techniques, including access control, surveillance, and incident response.
• Excellent observation skills with the ability to identify and assess potential security risks or threats effectively.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Class A CDL preferred, but not required.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods and lift heavy objects if necessary.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
