RMC is hiring for a Network Engineer who will provide support for NSWC Crane. The selected applicant will:

• Perform network design, engineering, and administration in a large multi-platform environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize routers, switches, and VPN devices.
• Deploy various network configurations, devices, software and services that provide maximum and efficient performance local (LANs) and wide area network (WANs).
• Configure network switches, firewalls, VPN, DNS, and routers.
• Provide support for server and cloud-based platforms.
• Perform vulnerability remediation and application of STIGS
• Collaborate with technical team and stakeholders to evaluate and update configurations, hardware, software and other deployments to assure environments are optimal and consistent with short and long term strategy.
• Perform high level troubleshooting of all network devices in the environment.
• Perform work building, running, maintaining and supporting CAT5\6 ethernet and various fiber technologies.

• Design, implement, and maintain a redundant network connection back to our corporate entry point.
• Apply required firmware and security upgrades to all network devices in the environment
• Create and maintain network data flow diagrams outlining ports and protocols in use and their flow between servers and zones
• Create and maintain network cable path diagrams depicting cable paths in the server room and office spaces; -track, manage, and issue all IP addresses in the environment
• Maintain switch inventory and Life cycle management of switch hardware to include end of life tracking
• Ensure proper labeling of network cables and ports in the server room and office spaces and be responsible for the collection and review of switch logs looking for anomalies
• Monitor network latency, identify and resolve any bottle necks and stay abreast to current technologies and make recommendations to improve network resources within the environment

A Bachelor’s Degree and at least three (3) years of experience in related infrastructure network engineering and network administration work is required. Six (6) years of additional related work experience or an Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security CE equivalent, or greater), CCNA, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.

An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
