Resource Innovations is Hiring an Energy Efficiency Outreach Representative Near Boston, MA

Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Efficiency Outreach Representative to join our growing team in Massachusetts. As an Outreach Representative with Resource Innovations, you will promote utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs to contractors, vendors, service providers, and customers in order to maximize participation in utility offerings. This Outreach Representative position will focus primarily on non-residential lighting.

You will be a key contact to support, train and recruit companies who sell energy efficiency equipment and services to customers. Part relationship-builder and part problem-solver, you will work to maximize participation in utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs. This role has similarities to a technical sales position, but targets are measured in participation and energy savings. If you want to make a difference, value integrity and provide quality and service beyond expectations, we want to hear from you.

Resource Innovations (RI) is a women-led energy transformation firm focused on impact. Building on our expertise in energy efficiency, we’re constantly expanding our portfolio of clean energy solutions to guide utilities through increasingly complex, connected challenges. Load flexibility. Electrification. Carbon reduction. With every step, we’re leading the charge to power change.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach, educate and assist customers and contractors so they may effectively participate in and promote utility energy-efficient lighting programs.
  • Develop, manage and strengthen relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to recruit new contractors and retain current contractors.
  • Deliver sales and program training presentations to provide customers and contractors with an understanding of the value of incentive programs.
  • Help contractors identify qualifying projects and associated incentives.
  • Support contractors’ application completion, submission, and follow up.
  • Answer program inquiries
  • Train and support contractors to use new software tools.
  • Be familiar with lighting technology trends, market challenges, and opportunities to provide suggestions to guide program planning and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years industry experience
  • 2 years of experience in a related field such as professional sales, account management, marketing, business management, customer service or project management
  • Have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a personal vehicle to visit contractor and customer sites.
  • Must be able to travel locally.
  • Able to work out of your home during the times you are not out in the field working with contractors and customers.
  • Proficient in communicating via various means: face-to-face, phone, text/chat messages, email, online meetings, small group and large group settings.
  • Ability to use software solutions to support efforts: Excel tools and spreadsheets, online applications, CRM platforms, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A background in construction, lighting, building controls, utility Demand Side Management (DSM), energy efficiency design, or other building-related experience is preferred.
  • Able to self-manage in a professional environment and take the initiative to get stuff done or try something new.
  • Strong proficiency in developing and delivering formal presentations.

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on candidate's qualifications. Resource Innovations also offers three weeks paid vacation per year, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with employee matching funds, a discretionary bonus and an overall comprehensive benefits package.
