Position Summary

This position reports to the Vice President of IT and is responsible for the maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of the complex database systems that serve as the backbone of business-critical Information Technology services.

This role is part of the internal IT application support and development teams, serves as a primary resource for infrastructure and service operation functions, and assists in problem resolution as needed.

ResortCom applications support timeshare and payment operations for over 100,000 members, and this role actively participates in the design and support of these applications. Essential Functions

• Responsible for the 24x7 uptime of all database environments.
• Manage and control vendor tasks related to database hardware, software, and backup operations.
• Develop and implement ETL processes to enable the flow of information from the operational environment to the data warehouse and ensure data availability.
• Develop new objects and processes to improve performance of the production environment, in accordance with best practices.
• Develop and implement database stored procedures to support the requirements of current projects.
• Collaborate with development and application management teams to support application improvements and design.
• Coordinate with the developers to maintain a usable dev/test environment for the application and reporting work.
• Perform scheduled tasks to maintain a stable production environment.
• Execute general database administration tasks in all environments for both operational and data warehouse databases.
• Monitor production applications and databases, execute corrective measures when necessary.
• Review messages created by internal data check scripts and apply fixes as necessary.
• On call as needed for database functional issues.

Required Education and Experience

• At least 4 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Associates of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent additional experience in Database Administration).
• Experience with data modeling with both OLTP and OLAP design methodologies.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office 365 applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, and vendors.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good decision making and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to prioritize objectives & multiple tasks.
• Reacts positively to change; demonstrates flexibility and adaptability.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Experience and working knowledge of the following:
  • Linux shell and perl scripting
  • Oracle 11g and higher
  • Oracle RMAN backup utility
• Bilingual (English – Spanish)
