Job Purpose

Sourcing, negotiating and buying of goods, materials and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Act as an interface between Suppliers and Involved Departments.
• Monitor and advise on issues which may provide risk/opportunity for the company.
• Provide analysis of cost and/or cost reduction activities.
• Adhere to and monitor compliance to all Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Maintain SDS System.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders throughout the MRP System (Currently Microsoft AX).
• Monitor and manage suppliers in accordance with company guidelines, policies/procedures.
• Resolve supplier issues (Price, Quality, Delivery) as needed.
• Conduct research for new/alternate suppliers and services.
• Maintain professional and consistent communications with all Suppliers.
• Prepare necessary reports in compliance with Company policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
• 6S Responsibilities and/or Duties as required.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or minimum of 5 years experience.
• Previous experience in an automotive and/or manufacturing environment
• Advanced Computer (Excel, Word, MRP, etc.) experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• International coordination and logistics experience.
• Experience negotiating prices, contracts, etc.
• Knowledge of ISO and TS guidelines.

• Excellent computer and application skills (Microsoft Office Suite).

Working Conditions

• This job operates primarily in an office setting but may require work on the manufacturing floor.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax.

Physical Requirements

• This is largely a sedentary role; however, may require lifting up to 30lbs, standing, walking, bending, stretching, and use of hands to feel, touch, or handle objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
