Summary:
As a key member of the sales team, the Sales and Service Coordinator has influence and accountability for the revenue generation of the properties. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales and Service Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of competencies to help the property to achieve its business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests, team members and community.
  • Respond in a professional and courteous manner to telephone inquiries for groups and events.
  • Qualify inquires / sales leads to find out client needs and asses if hotel is the right fit.
  • Provide hotel information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Input group contracts, recaps, rooming lists, and reservations as they are received from the sales department.
  • Process Commissions/Rebates/Brand Rewards.
  • Manage sales marketing materials required for packaging, advertising, and promotion of company products and/or services (e.g., sales kits, trade-show supplies, VIP amenities, site inspections, etc.)
  • Reports to the Director of Sales and works closely with Sales manager
  • Assist with special reservations to include V.I.P. reservations and packages.
  • Ensure that all group reservations, rates and routing, and resumes are properly detailed and set up prior to the group arrival. Attend Resume Meetings.
  • Conduct site visits, guest room tours, property tours, special guest requests.
  • Create files, handling of mail, faxes, etc.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times and to conduct personal behavior in a mature professional manner when representing the hotel or company.
  • Reserve and block meeting space and detail Banquet Event orders
  • Assure meeting space is set-up and ready for all meeting and functions.
  • Coordinate with various departments the activities related to booked business.
  • Assist with the coordination and planning of special client events.
  • Must be able to meet work schedule which may include weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: College degree preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience and/or training in a hotel sales environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on- one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
