Job Title:Residential Aide/Direct Care

Job Summary:The primary responsibilityof the Residential Aide is to serve as a role model and be a spiritual mentorto men who are homeless or in recovery from an alcohol or drug addition.Will provide direct support with buildingeducational, life and computer skills while maintaining a safe and recoveryfocused program.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain the safety and security of the facility. 
  • Develop appropriate relationships with men to serve as a source of Godly counsel. 
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with the men by upholding theregulations of the program and acting as a trusted source of support.
  • Implement all practices and procedures of the programs.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff members.
  • Communicate crisis incidents, potential threats and other unusual incidents to supervisor. 
  • Maintain documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Abide by all Mission and program and safety policies, procedures andguidelines.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings and trainings as requested byyour supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable attitude on the Mission campus.
  • All other duties as requested by your supervisor.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • AAS Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • Genuine desire to pursue a career in human services.
  • Experience working with men in the area of recovery, homelessness and mental illness preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Clean/valid NYS Driver’s License preferred.
  • Enthusiastic support of our Mission Statement.

Status

Part Time/Per Diem

 Shifts

Varied Shifts: 8 am – 4 pm, 4 pm –12 am, 12 am – 8 am
