Position Overview

The position will support the production team in all aspects of cleaning, storage, maintenance, and repair of Extrusion tooling. Lead the production team in the proper set up, take down storage and cleaning of all extrusion tooling.

• Properly maintain storage of all tools and equipment and assures accessibility for shop use. Ensure routing packet locations for all tooling is correct
• Follow production schedule to pull and stage tooling per the routing packet for production
• Maintain inventory of heater bands, screen packs, bolts – all necessary items to properly install tooling
• Maintain Sonic cleaner – Follow written procedure for measuring Ph level for proper cleaning effectiveness.
• Properly polish tooling as required
• Ability to operate a fork truck and scissor lift and obtain a Reschcor license
• Promotes company’s safety efforts and maintains a safe working environment
• Repairs water leaks in sizing as needed
• Performs wire heater band plugs as needed
• Responsible for the storage and disposal of obsolete tooling
• Assist the development team in the assembly of new sizing and polishing of tools when needed
• Establish routing pack, prepare new tooling with proper fasteners, heater bands and screen packs
• Train leads on the proper set-up, take down and cleaning of extrusion tooling
• Work with the training coordinator to develop work instructions for the purging and take down processes of tooling
• Performs other tasks as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in plastic extrusion
• Ability to use metal polishing tools and processes to maintain tooling.
• Strong organization skills
• Demonstrated history of operating a plastic extrusion manufacturing line.
• Basic computer skills
• Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to interact within all levels of the organization
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, crouch, walk up and down stairs and lift up to 40 pounds.
