RESA Branding is Hiring an Accountant, Corporate Tax Near Houston, TX

Position Summary

The Accountant will analyze financial information and maintain proper record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability as assigned by leadership in the Finance Department. Position will be responsible for other financial activities that ensure financial records are accurate for locations and the company.

Job Responsibilities

  • As directed, review all financial statements for quality and accuracy of information reported.
  • Review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including interim accounts.
  • Review local tax returns for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in the planning and compliance regarding tax matters such as waivers and Sales Tax returns for all locations.
  • Assist in assuring property taxes are accurate, paid, and posted properly.
  • Responsible for auditing to ensure company is compliant with payroll taxes across all divisions.
  • Responsible for auditing workforce (payroll) to ensure company is in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • As, directed, assist in month-end/quarter-end close and year-end audits, sales tax audit, insurance audits and/or other audits as assigned.; provide supporting documentation to both external financial and other auditors on areas of responsibility, maintain and update files and records; assist with ad hoc projects.
  • Provide financial support in ensuring Sales Tax is correct across the organization.
  • Maintains financial policies and procedures and financial controls to assure compliance with company, state,

and federal standards.

  • Initiates and supports department by suggesting and aiding with ideas and implementation of process or system improvements.
  • Provide back up to Corporate Team (Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Director) as business need dictates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with Accounting Software (CRM, GP); strong MS Office skills
  • Able to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks and work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work with various people throughout the organization-Customer Focused
  • Focus on accuracy and efficiencies

Additional Information

Travel: 0-5%

Physical Demands: Lifting a minimum of 50lbs, occasionally. Position is a desk position. Long periods of computer and/or phone work is required.
