Republic Crypto is a highly specialized team that sits within the Republic ecosystem, supporting the bold builders and investors working to accelerate the growth of web3. At its core, Republic Crypto is a web3 advisory -- composed of world-class strategists who guide crypto projects from seed to liquidity. We also facilitate broad-spectrum tokenization, power global token offerings, operate an enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure platform, and offer digital asset management.

This role lives within the Republic Crypto Blockchain Infrastructure Team who is charged with provisioning and operationally managing physical and virtual infrastructure that executes blockchain node software.

We seek to provide a globally distributed and resilient infrastructure that guarantees both performance and uptime to a level that aligns with aspirations of the broader Republic Crypto team - Global Leaders.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integrating changes and deploying to production in progressively tested environments.
• Develop monitoring and alerting systems utilizing modern best practices
• Software build/release management, deployment to servers, maintenance, security and uptime to 24/7 production environment
• Design and build a globally distributed and high available infrastructure
• Build, configure and administration of Linux Bare Metal and Cloud environments such as GCP
• Automation and operating system management and configuration with Ansible, Terraform Python and Bash scripting
• Design self-healing infrastructure
• Debug intricate production issues
• Developing customized monitoring for non-standard workloads
• Improve service reliability through testing, root cause analysis, and postmortem
• Solve availability, reliability, and latency issues across application stack
• Participate in 24x7 On-Call

Our ideal candidate

• 5 years of DevOps/SRE experience
• Experienced in both bare metal and cloud hosting context
• Experience with general Linux systems administration
• Experience in profiling Linux workloads in order to achieve best application performance and the most efficient use of server hardware/VM resources
• Experience maintaining 24/7 production environments 
• Designed a globally distributed and highly available computer system. 
• Experience in both bare metal and cloud hosting context - Linux and GCP
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus)
• Strong grasp of deployment automation and configuration management (Ansible/Terraform)
• Automation and scripting skills in Python or Bash
• Skilled at clearly articulating design ideas while being receptive to constructive criticism
• Strong attention to detail
• General knowledge and/or previous experience running blockchain nodes highly beneficial including experience in cryptocurrency staking or mining operations may be helpful also.
• Passion or interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency staking and/or mining
• Experience with GNU Make/Makefiles, Git, Nginx, caddy, hwproxy, Docker, IPTables, ZFS

A qualified candidate can expect a base salary of $125,000-$175,000. A standard offer from Republic includes base compensation, equity options, and a highly competitive benefits and perks package. Offers are determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.
