Overview

Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with Republic Industries safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports Human Resource efforts to ensure compliance with corporate EHS program expectations and all applicable federal and state laws.
• Identifies and informs management of compliance issues, safety risks and opportunities for improvement through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
• Follow-up with managers, supervisors, employees and contractors to resolve risk and related issues.
• Leads, coordinates, and conducts post-accident investigations and procedures (drug screens, accident reports, etc.)
• Assist with and develop risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis).
• Coordinate employee participation as it relates to job functions (first responder team; audiometric testing, etc.)
• Assist and recruits Safety Committee while coordinating meetings and activities and recommendations.
• Manages data files as necessary.
• Monitors, provides, or coordinates required safety training for all employees, including Plant and Field personnel.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree preferred; Environmental safety and health; Safety or environmental management or Safety Environmental Science. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Bilingual – English / Spanish preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical thinking, complex problem solving, physical stamina, detail oriented and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts
