Material Handler Stone

JOB SUMMARY: Operates as a Cutter byperforming the following duties:
Cutter: Prepares full sheets of material forcutting by reading from download developed by the Detailer/CAD Operator forspecifications of cuttings. Must be able to read tape measure, decimalsand desired computer knowledge to input data. Must be able to adjust to varioussizes needed for correct cutting of granite.
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and monitorupkeep on the machine. Transfers from one task to another where demandsrequire worker, with varied experience and ability, to work without closesupervision. Must be able to identify different settings for cutting ofcountertops. Must be able to work accurately, independently, and adapt tochanging priorities. Individual takes pride in their work and looks forand resolves problems that arise. Performs other duties assigned. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to performthe essential functions.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION:
Ability to follow instruction and read paperwork.
Ability to set up machinery and operate computercontrolled equipment.
Ability to convert fractions to decimals.
Ability to do the work of the position withoutmore than normal supervision.
Ability to work safely and follow safetyprocedures when lifting heavy objects

SUPERVISOR/MANAGER CONTROLS:
The supervisor/manager defines the objectives andpriorities, informs the incumbent of special priorities and deadlines, and thedegree of quality and accuracy that is expected. The supervisor/managerprovides additional instructions for new, difficult or unusual tasks that mayinclude suggested work methods or advice. The incumbent independentlycarries out regular and recurring assignments without assistance. However, the supervisor/manager is available for advice on any deviations, problems,or unusual instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed inside or outside and is exposedto all types of weather conditions. Areas may be damp, noisy, dirty,dusty, hot, cold, or drafty. The work site is well lighted, well ventilated,and easily accessible. 
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Required standing on hard surfaces for extendedperiods of time, bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortablepositions. Consistently lifts and carries items that weigh up to 50 lbs.moves, maneuvers, push, or slide items for proper position. Heavier itemsare moved with the assistance from other workers. May be subject toscrapes, bruises and cuts.
SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is required to wear safety equipment suchas ear plugs, eye glasses and any other safety equipment appropriate for thejob and work area assigned, as directed by the Supervisor.
