The PBE Outside Sales is responsible for developing new prospects and interacting with existing PBE customers to increase sales of the Company’s automotive and industrial coatings products. The salesperson makes routine sales calls and assists customers with technical information, color, and painting issues. Today, Replacement Parts, Inc. and Crow Burlingame is made up of a corporate staff and several different companies, including Parts Warehouse Inc. (PWI). We employ around 1,400 employees, in twelve (12) states, working at approximately 220 locations, all operating in the aftermarket automotive parts, paint and heavy duty parts business. In 2019, our company celebrated 100 years of serving our communities as a privately held business with most of our employees spending the majority of their working lives as part of the "Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts" family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with Store Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and District Sales Manager to obtain and manage quality profitable business throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ensure a working vendor relationship within the assigned area.
  • Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales of the company's automotive and industrial coatings products.
  • Maintain consistent relationship with customers for continued growth.
  • Cultivate the team with store managers by using and supporting staff to meet current customers' needs.
  • Make sales calls on accounts and targets in assigned territory.
  • Assist customers with technical information, color, and painting issues.
  • Use tools to increase accuracy and efficiency in customer ordering and inventories.
  • Continually develop skills through sales and leadership training
  • Focus on customer file organization and communication using electronic media.
  • Train store staff on new and existing products along with computer training
  • Assist paint manufactures in customer installations.
  • Travel may be required to accommodate business needs.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in automotive coatings or related sales.
  • Experience developing new business leads.
  • Clean driving record.

Language Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills needed. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
