Compensation Base Range: $167,000.00 - $206,000.00 Annually

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Director of Global IT Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing our global network, overseeing global software platforms, serving as our technology architect, managing our global IT infrastructure capital plan, corporate IT expense management, IT project portfolio, project management activities, IT team structure and hiring plan, and driving the evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance our company's productivity and security, with an emphasis on cyber security. This role holds significant responsibility for providing robust, scalable technology platforms and reliable services to ensure the ongoing performance and safe keeping of the company's IT systems and data.

The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Data and Database Management:

  • Work with teams to identify systems requirements and priorities of end users, including client tracking and outcome/impact measurement priorities.
  • Identify and install systems and software to determine the most efficient and viable way to organize, store, track, and report all data. Ensure all the data complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage senior management in securing and reviewing data for accuracy and take the lead in coordinating, completing, and submitting key regular reports in a timely and effective manner. This includes reporting related to and tracking and evaluating the organization's overall operating goals.

Systems Development:

  • Review existing contracts and identify systems, policies, and procedures in need of development/refining.
  • Continuously engage the key internal stakeholders, as part of the development or revision of the policy and its associated procedures.

Technology Architect:

  • Develop and maintain the company's technology architecture, aligning it with strategic business objectives.
  • Provide architectural guidance and expertise to IT teams for systems design and development.

Global Network Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of our global network infrastructure.
  • Ensure the network's security, reliability, and scalability to support the company's growth.

Global IT Capital Plan:

  • Develop, execute, and manage a comprehensive global IT infrastructure capital plan that supports business growth and innovation.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage budgets to achieve IT objectives.

Corporate IT Expense Management:

  • Manage and optimize corporate IT expenses, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to track and control IT-related expenditures.

IT Project Portfolio and Project Management Activities:

  • Oversee the management of the IT infrastructure project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with business goals and delivered on time and within budget.
  • Establish and lead infrastructure standards, ensuring the company has consistent project management practices.

IT Team Structure and Hiring Plan:

  • Develop and manage our IT personnel, evaluating company needs vs existing skill sets
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff and management, fostering their growth and development.
  • Establish IT Team structure, proposing training plans and hiring needs as growth plans and strategy dictates

Technology Evaluation and Adoption:

  • Stay at the forefront of technology trends, assessing innovative technologies and architectural paradigms.
  • Recommend and implement innovative technologies to enhance company productivity, competitiveness, and security.

Supplier Management:

  • Negotiate and partner with suppliers, software providers, outsourced partners, and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services.
  • Evaluate outsourced services for efficacy and cost effectiveness; recommend sourcing approaches and changes as required (insource vs outsource)

Continuous Improvement:

  • Direct the infrastructure team to identify, report, implement productivity improvements and cost savings measures targeted at achieved net reductions in operating costs as a percentage of revenue.

Leadership:

  • Contributes both strategically and tactically to corporate planning initiatives
  • Actively contributes to Rep Leadership Team
  • Possesses a servant leader's mentality

Others:

  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will oversee and manage multiple direct reports. Will have responsibility for day-to-day coaching to ensure success in execution of multiple simultaneously running global, regional, and local (site level) projects.
  • Will select, train, supervise, provide evaluation and if necessary, dismiss direct IT staff as required.
  • Will ensure that the duties and roles assigned to the various team members will be performed according to the business and/or projects plans.

  • Expert level with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Expert Experience with managing and implementing Tier 1 ERP's; NetSuite a Plus
  • Expert Experience in a Teir 1 Ecommerce Ecosystem, with complete end to end integrations (Shopify, Celigo)
  • API coding experience
  • Ability to design, develop, operate, and manage Network (LAN, WAN), Server/Storage, Security, Telecom, Data Center, Unified Communications, and other Infrastructure technologies.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. Master's degree a plus.
  • 10 years' experience in global IT operations leadership roles managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting services, Ecommerce Eco Systems, and network areas.
  • Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and applications layers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on delivery, responsiveness, ownership, and accountability
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage several initiatives at one time.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Ability to remotely manage large projects utilizing on- and offshore teams.
  • Ability to manage mid to large size OPEX and CAPEX budget.
  • Must demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
