The Manager of Financial Reporting and Tax is responsible for the timely and accurate review and preparation of all related financial/tax reporting and filings. As a Manager of Financial Reporting and Tax, your job duties involve preparing documents, verifying their accuracy, and collaborating with cross functional departments to ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations. This role will report to the Controller and will regularly interact with cross functional departments and senior leaders. Primary responsibilities: • Ensure accurate quarterly and annual financial filings, including footnotes, in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and managing the internal and external review of all documents • Manage the post issuance compliance process for all debt, including ensuring timely and accurate completion of all debt compliance reporting requirements and monitoring debt covenants for compliance • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all federal, state, and local tax returns and licensures • Lead preparation of monthly consolidation and internal financial statements and reports including the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, segment financial information, and footnotes. • Ensure adherence of the following processes: financial close, quarterly reviews and annual audits • Assist with external review/audit process for financial statements and tax filings • Analyze and understand complex tax issues and accounting standards, perform technical accounting research, and provide recommendations based on this research • Manage the implementation of new tax and accounting standards, as applicable • Manage all banking relationships and oversee daily cash management and banking functions including cash forecasting and excess cash investment • Monitor and coordinate investment responsibilities with investment firms and investment advisers • Through effective business partnering with leaders in Operations, Legal and Finance, will execute tax-efficient strategies around business structures • Maintain the private use calculation database for tax exempt bonds • Assist in all bond and debt issuances • Support management in completing special projects as assigned • Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining skilled tax and accounting staff The incumbent must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Strong technical knowledge of the following: o Generally Accepted Accounting Principles within the United States o Internal Revenue Service regulations for taxable and exempt entities • Must be organized and detail oriented • Maintain records in an organized manner and with high level of accuracy • Drive to institute process improvement • Positive attitude and dependable team player willing to “roll up their shirt sleeves” to get the work done • Demonstrated ability to work independently, coordinate the efforts of others and work well with people at a wide range of levels • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision and prioritize work to achieve objectives • Ability to work with external and internal auditors/examiners • Ability to work independently to research issues and recommend and implement solutions • Ability to perform detailed review of staff’s work • Excellent written and oral communication skills This position does not provide patient care. |
