Description

This position is responsible for performing each essential duty satisfactorily. Tasks such as, preventive maintenance on bowling equipment, use of a variety of tools to include metric tools, must be able to work inside and outside of building, monitors pin setting machines, keeps work area’s clean, maintains effective and professional working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and tenants. A Pinchaser is expected to be able to work without close supervision, and be willing to work irregular hours and days including overtime, weekends, holidays, and night shifts.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and performing routine maintenance on pinsetter equipment.
  • Checks switches prior to bowling tournaments for potential jams and obstacles.
  • Assists Pinsetter Mechanics with stripping and oiling lanes.
  • Changes or cleans pin wipes and belts.
  • Monitors pin setting machines during tournaments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, and safety concerns promptly to supervisor.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced setting.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Maintain an effective and professional working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, tenants, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Work according to established standards and procedures set by facility leadership.
  • Maintains professional and productive atmosphere.
  • Report to work as scheduled and/or requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance needed on bowling equipment and machines.
  • Six months of related mechanical experience or similar combination of education and experience required.
  • Use of a variety of tools, including metric tools.
  • Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend work assignments, reports, and operating manuals, and understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, supervisors, visitors, vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level.
  • Frequently required to stand for long periods during events, walk, bend (at neck and waist), stoop, twist, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, push, and pull, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Simple grasping as well as repetitive use of hands.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS /ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • May work near moving mechanical parts.
  • May work at heights.
  • May be exposed to various room temperatures, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
