The Reno County Education Cooperative is currently accepting applications for a potential school counselor or social worker. This is a full-time position serving students in multiple locations in Reno County, KS. The final assignment is yet to be determined.

Summary: The teacher provides students with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential. The job requires significant self-discipline, internal motivation, and sound judgment. Special education classroom teachers work in a fast-paced environment, leading developmentally-appropriate academic, social, and physical activities. Teachers are responsible for lesson planning and delivering instruction, managing the classroom, supervising students, overseeing the IEP process and documentation, and supervising non-certified classroom staff.

Education and/or Experience:

• Requires a valid building-level/subject area license issued by the Kansas State Board of Education. Will consider the right candidate who is willing to obtain the appropriate license in adherence with KSDE waiver requirements.
• Requires an ability to work cooperatively and constructively with others, including the ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience.
• Requires an ability to manage job responsibilities and meet the established district outcomes.
• Requires an ability to use district-identified computer hardware and software and other district-provided technology as needed.

Applicants for this position must hold one of the following certifications in Kansas:

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW or TLMSW)
• Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW or TLSCSW)
• School Counseling license issued by KSDE
