Renewable Operations Company LLC is Hiring a Biogas Facility Operator Near Randolph, NY

Renewable Operations Company, LLC (ROC) is a leader in the operations and maintenance of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects and facilities. We partner with dairy farms across the Northeast and Midwest to provide the strategy, skill, and manpower required for sustainable and safe RNG production. The ROC team has proven success, having developed 10 fully operational dairy RNG projects to date; with many more in various stages of development. From concept to completion, our employees are equipped to support the unique infrastructure of today’s EPA and CALCFS-compliant energy solutions.

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) systems are co-located on existing American dairy farms. Manure from these farms is continually processed to produce raw biogas. The biogas is refined into RNG, reducing the carbon emissions of methane generated from manure emissions by at least 90%.

RNG Plant Operators are responsible for the specific RNG site, the process, the equipment, and the results. They monitor the digestion & refining processes, collect/record/communicate information, making changes as needed, and do simple repairs, and other duties, as assigned.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors process data and takes action to assure quality results.
  • Routinely assesses, records, and reports system equipment operation and condition.
  • Records and communicates data, observations, conclusions, and actions taken to maximize safety, quality, and production. This includes process sampling, with associated laboratory test procedures.
  • Monitors the use and inventory of process chemicals and supplies.
  • Recognizes and communicates changes in equipment sound, temperature, and vibration; and identifies root causes.
  • Maintains system and area cleanliness, fire protection, safety systems, and environmental compliance.
  • Recognizes & reports unsafe work practices and conditions, and protects himself, and others from associated accidents.
  • Performs other tasks as requested by management.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Act with high standards and personal integrity.
  • Understand the operation of pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, centrifuges, blowers, and other basic processing equipment.
  • Understand the basic concepts of heat transfer, fluid flow dynamics, pressure, vacuum, temperature, levels, and pH.
  • Know how to safely operate mechanical equipment and hand/power tools
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to change, able to integrate with company concepts and policies.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Training/Experience/Education:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the operation of Waste Water treatment, ethonol distilation, and / or Anerobic Digestion or similar facilities.
  • Knowledge and experience operating advanced wastewater treatment systems prefered.
  • Knowledge and experience operating a Membrane Bioreactor desirable.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls, and SCADA systems prefered.
  • Able to perform basic water quality or other laboratory analysis.
  • Knowledge of the operation of solids dewatering equipment prefered.
  • Knowledge of biomethane upgrading technology, flares, and gas blowers desired.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to read and write in English to a twelfth-grade level.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group setting to fellow employees, management and/or outside vendors.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices is beneficial.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Perform work outside, in varying weather conditions, and with possible exposure to leaks of hazardous chemicals.
  • Enter and exit confined spaces in accordance with established procedures.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may be performed in both inside and outside environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with strong odors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Possible exposure to high noise levels

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
