Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel is Hiring a Bell Captain (FT) Near Addison, TX
The Bell Captain’s main duties include coordinating all bell services. This may involve tasks such as luggage service and storage, handling messages, and assigning work duties and schedules of Bell Attendants/Bell Hops. He/She oversees the grooming of bell staff. He/She also has to keep a well-groomed and tidy appearance with a pleasant and friendly attitude.
The Bell Captain should also be able to perform manual duties, which may involve a lot of walking and lifting baggage.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle as our bellmen are also valet attendants.
- Open vehicle door when a guest arrives and departs.
- Doorman has to be friendly and greet guests with a smile.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Inform the guest of parking options
- Assist incoming and outgoing guests with transporting luggage to and from guest rooms. May secure, tag, and store luggage at guests’ request.
- Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets, and services to the guest.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicles; take necessary action to correct deficiencies or unsafe conditions.
- Regularly inspect and clear hotel entrance and surrounding areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned the job requires carrying, pushing, or lifting items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Inform supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances, or dissatisfied guests.
- It is preferred that a Bell Captain has prior working experience as a Bell Attendant/Bell Hop.
- He/She acts as a mentor to coach bell staff on their performance and all aspects of bell services.
- The Bell Captain should have a good command of English.
- He/She should also have knowledge of a second language or local dialects to interact with both local and overseas guests. This knowledge also enables him/her to attend to guest requests and complaints in an efficient manner.
- Must be Able to work the 3 pm - 11 pm shifts with weekend and holiday availability.
