The Opportunity: The Lead Event Server plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of events held at our club. This dynamic position requires exceptional customer service skills, strong leadership abilities, and a keen attention to detail. The Lead Event Server will oversee event service operations, supervise event servers, and contribute to the overall satisfaction of our members and guests.

Duties and Functions:

• Supervise Event Servers: Provide guidance and direction to event servers, ensuring they deliver top-quality service, adhere to established protocols, and maintain a professional appearance.
• Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations, and ensuring the venue is prepared to meet event specifications.
• Guest Interaction: Interact with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs and concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages according to established standards, including wine service, plate presentation, and maintaining proper service etiquette.
• Order Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in taking and delivering orders, paying special attention to dietary restrictions and special requests.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages, ensuring they meet the country club's high standards.
• Problem Solving: Handle guest complaints and concerns with tact and professionalism, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
• Team Leadership: Lead by example, motivating the event server team to excel in customer service and efficiency.
• Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control and report shortages or discrepancies to management.
• Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following health and safety guidelines and food handling regulations.
• Event Coordination: Collaborate with event planners and coordinators to ensure seamless execution of events.
• Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest checks, following established procedures.
• Training: Assist in training new event servers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications Standards:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in catering, banquet, or fine dining service preferred.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of food and beverage etiquette.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stand, lift, and carry items up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• TIPS or similar certification a plus.
