For nearly 20 years Remote Solutions has been designing, testing, and innovating remote racking systems. Our goal is to create and improve a product that keeps every operator in the field safe from the effects of arc flash incidents and protect the switchgear racking mechanism from damage. Our products are designed and assembled in our state-of-the-art facility in Tucson, Arizona to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and durability for everything we sell.

Our Safe-T-Rack product line is the first and only portable remote racking system to include hot stick operators and remote open/close applications. Our system is universal, portable, ergonomic and designed for closed doors, wherever possible, with operation up to 150 feet away to keep your team far away from arc flash events, every time.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team, playing a crucial role in assisting our team with technical documentation, pictures, video, web content and other collateral. This position requires a strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and persuasive language to support the sales process effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with the sales and engineering teams in achieving their objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Create Sales Support Documentation: Develop a variety of sales support materials, including product brochures, datasheets, catalog pages, user manuals, case studies, and presentations, to effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value proposition of our remote racking products to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and specifications required for the creation of support documentation.
  • Ensure Clarity and Accuracy: Review and edit support documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging, terminology, and formatting, aligning with the company's brand voice and sales objectives.
  • Tailor Collateral for Specific Audiences: Customize sales collateral to address the unique needs and preferences of different client segments, highlighting key features and benefits that resonate with their specific requirements.
  • Support Sales Presentations: Assist the sales team by providing technical documentation and support materials for client presentations, demonstrations, and meetings, offering technical expertise and guidance as necessary.
  • Assist with Proposal Development: Collaborate with the sales team to develop technical proposals and responses to client inquiries, ensuring alignment with client specifications and competitive positioning.
  • Contribute to Product Training: Contribute to the development of technical training materials and resources for the sales team, enabling them to effectively communicate product features, benefits, and value propositions to clients.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with engineering, product management, marketing, and customer support teams to gather information and ensure alignment on sales support documentation requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in sales support documentation creation and management, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment with a focus on sales support.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in clear and compelling language.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Affinity Publisher.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Teams.
