Remington Lodging & Hospitality is Hiring an Overnight Security Officer - Doubletree El Paso Downtown Near El Paso, TX

Purpose of the Position:

Efficiently and effectively safeguards property that belongs to the hotel, associates and guests. Oversees the safety and well-being of guests and associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Know your work schedule and follow it with a high degree of reliability.
  • Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow associates.
  • Maintain professional attire and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Perform your job according to standard operating procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Associate Handbook.
  • Implement management company and hotel's safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following company's OSHA Hazcom program and safe lifting techniques.
  • Utilize protective equipment, when applicable.
  • Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to supervisor.
  • Keep accurate communication flowing freely among all hotel departments.
  • Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  • Practice “aggressive hospitality” and provide guest satisfaction.
  • Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude.
  • Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  • Train and supervise other associates as directed by management.
  • Continue to learn and grow in your position.
  • Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities.
  • Assist person(s) with a disability.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances as they apply to the hotel, guests and associates.
Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Efficiently perform a continuous foot patrol of the entire property while maintaining constant communication with PB, the MOD or other associates as required.
  • Quickly and efficiently respond to and investigate all hotel-related accidents involving guests, associates and vehicles/property.
  • Quickly and efficiently investigate all criminal activity occurring on the property coordinating all activities with the Police Department as necessary.
  • Monitor associates to ensure rules and regulations contained in the Associate Handbook relative to parking, safety and security are followed.
  • Monitor associate's ingress and egress to and from the property
  • Provide escorts for associates with cash banks and late-night associate departure.
  • Oversee departmental check-in and check-out.
  • Efficiently handle lost and found items in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Efficiently and quickly assist guests in solving unusual problems required.
  • Know and follow department and hotel fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Accurately maintain a chronological log of activities and observations.
  • Efficiently supervise parking of vehicles.
  • Immediately report all discrepancies to the Manager on Duty/General Manager.
  • Efficiently and accurately complete all necessary reports as directed.
  • Immediately report all violations of hotel and company policy to immediate Supervisor or Department head.
  • Use proper radio procedure in accordance with FCC and hotel policy.
  • Protect and follow department procedure for all master keys.
  • Escort and witness cash drops when requested.
  • Assist in the shipping-receiving operation as directed.
  • Enforce the hotel package pass policy.
  • Have working knowledge of the hotel's guest room key system.
  • Assist other associates in the completion of their duties fostering an atmosphere of teamwork.
