What You'll Do :

  • Engage and Resolve : Reach out to residents, nursing facility staff, and financially responsible parties via phone, fax, email, or mail to discuss and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Manage Accounts : Work on aging accounts with a focus on resolving issues related to insurance coverage, claim rejections, and prescription dispensing.
  • Communicate Clearly : Utilize established processes and tools to communicate past due amounts in a professional and effective manner.
  • Process Payments : Handle credit card payments and prepare / send collection letters.
  • Ensure Confidentiality : Adhere to HIPAA and PHI guidelines to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • Strategize with Management : Collaborate with department management to develop and implement effective collection strategies.
  • Stay Informed : Participate in staff meetings and educational activities to stay current with industry best practices.

Your Skills and Qualifications :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • Experience : At least two years of experience in pharmacy or medical collections, with a solid understanding of billing rules and third-party operating procedures.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team Player : Ability to work positively and productively with others.
