About SequelSequel Med Tech is an early-stage company developing the next generation of precision drug delivery devices.Job OverviewSequel Med Tech, an emerging leader in the medical device industry, is seeking a visionary and experienced Senior Director of Product Innovation and Portfolio Management to drive future product development and innovation. This key leadership role will focus on fostering new innovation with external partners and building robust business plans for the integration and launch of new products with internal and external stakeholders. The focus of innovation is not limited to just products. It will also include innovation in technology, services and features to truly delight our patients and end users.Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Lead the development and execution of the company's product innovation strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, including engineering, technical operations, and the Sequel clinical trial team, to drive collaborative innovation and ensure seamless integration of new products into the company's portfolio.
  • In conjunction with internal functions, develop comprehensive business plans and operations plans for new product launches, including market assessments, financial projections, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Single point accountability to deliver on business plans from concept to first lot; facilitate effective transition to the appropriate Sequel function(s).
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across departments to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support the company's growth objectives.
  • Translate the company's vision into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across all functions and departments.
  • Continuously analyze programs and initiatives to identify gaps in strategy or execution and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams involved in product development, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the process.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Manage the company's product portfolio, including prioritization of projects, resource allocation, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization, encouraging creativity, risk-taking, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12 years of progressive experience in product innovation and portfolio management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven experience in leading and driving innovation; a true collaborator and driver of results
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams in the development and commercialization of new products.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation and pushing boundaries in the medical device industry.
  • Experience working with external partners and managing strategic alliances preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams and developing talent.
