POSITION SUMMARY: CNC Programmer

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to set up, program and manage operation of the CNC machinery cell. This position also works with production and engineers to develop the most efficient process while maintaining 100% tolerances of the finished product per the blueprint. The successful candidate will have intimate knowledge of the machines' capabilities in order to optimize performance while determining the optimum tool path.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • CNC programming, setting up, operating, and editing CNC Machines with Mastercam version 13 and 14
  • Troubleshoot and correct ongoing CNC related quality and buy-off issues
  • Continuously optimize program and part-to-part cycle times
  • Setup and run first article
  • Perform troubleshooting on part inaccuracy and must work diligently to find the best resolution
  • Productivity improvement based on program and tool path simplification while utilizing feed/speed as well as fixture design
  • Must perform work in a timely manner with respect to schedule and quality standards
  • Estimating & quoting CNC cycle times
  • Design and manufacture of fixtures
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC set-up, complex and production work with exacting tolerance
  • Proven experience in Mastercam version 13 and 14 and an understanding of Feed & Speeds
  • 5 Axis machining experience and experience with a DMS 5 Axis router
  • 5 Axis machining experience and experience with a Royce 5 Axis router
  • Experience with Fagor controller programming
  • Capable of programming own work on Mastercam and holding close tolerances
  • Can use and understand inspection tools and interpret blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work with little supervision while meeting or exceeding production goals.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word dominant)
  • Ability and desire to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperature climates for extended periods
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with CAD-CAM systems
  • Mastercam Certification
