Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team . As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our medical office. Your expertise in medical billing and coding, along with your knowledge of medical terminology and record-keeping systems, will contribute to the overall success of our billing operations.

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) for billing purposes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims accordingly
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, ensuring timely resolution
- Collaborate with medical staff to obtain necessary documentation for accurate billing
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding billing issues
- Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical billing and coding

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist in a medical office setting ( Podiatry experiences)
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, including DRG coding and medical collections
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and billing software
- Proficient in using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
