Responsibilities:

• Ensures accurate entry, access and retrieval of data base information.
• Verifies insurance benefits.
• Pre-certifies initial insurance coverage.
• Follows up to maintain required re-certification coverage authorization; enters patient information regarding authorization/coverage approval.
• Performs special projects and other duties as requested.
• May assist with billing, payroll and filing procedures.
• Promotes agency philosophy and mission by presenting a positive image to patients, families, physicians and community agencies.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or equivalency.
• One year experience with insurance background.
• Excellent phone, computer, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with insurance company representatives.
