Position Overview

Reporting to the CFO, the Leader of IT Operations is responsible for developing and driving information technology strategies across the organization critical for effective operations and in support of the strategic mission of the organization.

This role will play a critical role in overseeing our company’s hardware, software, and computer networks. Your responsibilities include monitoring network infrastructure, resolving system issues, and ensuring the security and reliability of our IT systems. This role will be filled with an initiative-taking and experienced professional who can manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively, and maintain consistent IT operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the infrastructure technology vision, strategy, and roadmap to drive ‘Company’ strategic initiatives in alignment with business objectives.
  • Responsible for the leadership of the technology operations team, assigning clear tasks and objectives, and establishing goals and measures for monitoring results as aligned with stated objectives.
  • Responsible for the development and engagement of team members by creating a motivating work environment that recognizes and rewards strong performance.
  • Develop and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT Infrastructure operations function within ‘Company.
  • Ensure customer service is timely and accurate as it relates to IT infrastructure and applications via management of the service desk.
  • Act as a 'trusted advisor' in the technology realm, building and maintaining relationships with other business leaders, to develop a clear understanding of business needs to ensure technology operations solutions support current and evolving business needs.
  • Develop and implement an IT governance framework for technology operations, including underlying policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Work closely with contracted IT service providers/vendors for technology operations to manage the technology ecosystem in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Develop, test, and maintain the IT elements of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan.
  • Design and implement IT information security governance and control structures, working with ‘Company’ legal counsel and the CFO.
  • Manage IT help desk.
  • Various hardware and software configuration, deployment, and administration.
  • Network administration/backup, user account management, e-mail systems, intranet, web server and office related software support. 
  • Responsible for deploying new hardware/laptops, desktop PC’s, wireless phones, mobile access points, desktop phones and software.
  • Support and train end-users with current and new technologies.
  • Occasional travel to remote sites may be needed to complete.

Working conditions

Position may require working over 40 working hours per week, as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical office conditions.
  • Temperature Controlled Environment (Heating & Air Condition).
  • Frequent visits to users are necessary to maintain or install resources.
  • Ability to provide remote support.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in computer science or equivalent combination of education.
  • Eight years of experience in networking, IT operations software, related and experience, with servers, desktop computers, software/hardware, and relevant IT functions, including management and oversight of IT operations (or similar) function. 
  • VMWare VCP Certification (VMWare Certified Professional)
  • CCNA Routing and Switching Certificate (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, and Desktop Products.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols – DHCP, TCPIP, and DNS.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and lead projects successfully.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of setup and support of remote VPN users.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of users and IT staff.
  • Team-oriented personality and attitude, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects. 
  • Ability to think strategically about technology and how to incorporate it into the business units and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience in the use and application of the most current and emerging technologies and products used in the industry.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and lead IT transformational initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Effective leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and coach high performance teams with organizational clarity, accountability, and engagement consistent with ‘Company’ culture and values.
  • Experience developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and standards across all technical and data processing activities for IT operations in accordance with leading practices and current data privacy-related requirements and regulations.
