REI Enterprises, LLC is Hiring an Inventory Specialist- Nights Near Rembrandt, IA

Job Summary:
The Inventory Specialist verifies and keeps records on all shipping, receiving, and warehouse documentation and all products that are held within the internal and external warehouses. Receives inbounds and ships outbounds using WMS. Examines contents and compares with records to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments. Utilizes material handling equipment to assist with operations and to ensure organization within the Shipping and Receiving department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains live inventory; daily, weekly, and month-end cycle counts; attends training, and production meetings, as needed.
  • Records shipment/receiving data, such as weight, charges, space availability and damages and discrepancies.
  • Manages freight to and from external warehouses and customers.
  • Works closely with management and/or purchasing/financial departments to ensure accurate inventory levels for further processing ingredients and packaging to determine what is needed for production materials.
  • Loads, unloads, picks, stocks and relocates trailers, using a yard truck and MHE, as necessary to allow for smooth transitions in production runs, ensure the warehouse is stocked with adequate materials/ingredients and to assist with projects pertaining to safety, maintenance, quality, operations, and the warehouse.
  • Reports and takes any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring. Supporting quality assurance to ensure that procedures are in place to comply with and support SQF systems, HACCP and 3rd party audit requirements.
  • Uses SAP and WMS to receive inbounds, bill outbounds and BOL creation, input and edit inventory data, finished goods creation and label processing/printing, and process internal/external bin/warehouse movements.
  • Collaborates with management to coordinate and schedule transportation for inbounds and outbounds, assist in completion of master sanitation schedule, and rectify issues with shortages/overages and non-conformance to specifications of all materials and product.
  • Maintains and properly documents safety checks on all MHE and assists in preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain and document fluids for reefer trailers and yard trucks, while ensuring outgoing loads are properly sealed and temperature controlled.
  • Performs proper verification of all BOL's for outbound and inbound shipments.
  • Manages cardboard composting, trash disposal, proper disposal of chemical barrels and containers & pallet return process.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
  • Active listening: Gives full attention to what other people are saying and takes time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to follow all safety and quality policies and procedures. Independent self-starter/team player.
  • Understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • 1 year(s) of working in a professional environment that dealt with the use of MHE including: Forklift, Pallet Jack, Telescopic Handler, Scissor Lift and Yard Truck.
  • Analytical ability for troubleshooting on mechanical equipment.
  • Problem Solving skills, to find waste, shrink, etc., and suggest solutions.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance and Quality Control Systems, preferably SQF certification.
  • Ability to work with ERP systems, to allow for data entry and edits.
  • Mathematical Skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions.
Preferred:
  • 2 years of warehouse, shipping and receiving experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food processing environment.
  • Bilingual Skills: Spanish/English.
  • 2 years of experience operating a yard truck and MHE including: forklift, pallet jack, telescopic handler, and scissor lift experience.
  • Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, WMS, ERP.

  • Company issued Safety and GMP PPEs and apparel.

  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audit.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
