We are seeking an ambitious, experienced Tool & Die Maker for our manufacturing operations located in Cullman, Alabama.

Responsibilities

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain injection molding tools.
• Machining and finishing of gauges
• Tool maintenance on existing IM tools; including milling, surface-grinding and manual filing
• Analyze production problems and carry out necessary tool modifications
• Optimize tools to improve product quality and performance of tooling
• Use machine tools to custom build parts as necessary for REHAU.

Important Individual Tasks:

• Work independently
• Make necessary modifications to tools using conventional machines and hand tools
• Work to tight tolerances
• File and polish critical surfaces
• Build, modify or assemble new tooling

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required:

• 5 years experience as Tool & Die Maker
• High School graduate required. Technical degree in tool making or machining preferred.
• Previous experience of 5 years in a tool & die shop
• Previous experience with injection molding tools extrusion an asset

Personal Characteristics:

• Team and detail oriented; able to work variety of shifts. 
• Must have pride in workmanship. 
• Above average organization with proven problem solving & math skills
• Strong work ethic, precision oriented, able to work variable shifts
• Strong problem solving skills
