Rehabilitation Associates of Colorado, P.C. is Hiring a Medical Front Desk/Physician Support Assistant Near Thornton, CO

36 hrs
M-TH 8:30 to 5:00, 1/2 lunch, Friday 8:30 to 12:30
PTO and Holiday pay after 90 days of service

Medical office hiring for Full-Time front desk position.
Front office staff is the face of the practice and must present themselves in a professional manner. The ideal candidate for this position must be positive, organized, responsible, and have the ability to work with limited supervision. You should be comfortable working directly with patients and contacting people on the phone. Must be willing to learn and follow directions.

Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily duties requested by physician(s), manager, and administration. Duties include patient scheduling, continual patient contact, administrative and strategic planning as relates to daily operations, communication and coordination with professional staff, managing correspondence, and preparing reports in response to data requests.
2. Receive, screen, distribute, respond and maintain medical files related to all correspondence for physicians, manager and administration as assigned.
3. Coordinate the stock of supplies in order to facilitate successful daily operations.
4. Coordinate and maintain records pertaining to service calls made for timely repair of equipment used by the physician and staff as requested.
5. Answer telephones, direct calls, receive referrals, and respond appropriately regarding all communication regarding assigned physicians.
6. Coordinate release of information requests received by telephone for continuing patient care or billing resolution in accordance with Release of Information Practice Guidelines, as well as the statutes and directives set forth by regulatory agencies.
7. Coordinate the insurance pre-authorization for medical care when appropriate and work cooperatively with RAC admissions staff to ensure the timely and accurate registration of all physician office patients.
8. Take patients to exam rooms, clean room and change linen. Chaperon physician when requested during patient’s visit. Occasional UDT.
9. Maintain and monitor physician schedules (patient and non-patient), schedule and document patient appointments and cancellations, coordinate hospital consultations, and keep appropriate physician staff apprised regarding all pertinent scheduling issues and critical/priority deadlines. Contact patients daily to confirm appointments.
10. Retrieve medical records for daily appointments, administrative review, communication/follow-up as from the respective medical record area as required/requested. Ensure that all medical records retrieved are signed out and returned to appropriate medical record area in the most timely manner possible.
11. Communicate with the physician billing service as needed to resolve billing issues.
12. Maintain strict patient confidentiality, as well as familiarity and compliance with all corporate, facility and department policies and procedures.
13. Schedule depositions/trials and attorney conferences, training will be provided.
14. Cross-train with other staff and duties. Assist other staff when time available.
15. Work closely with other medical providers, nurse case managers and adjusters to coordinate care.
16. Other various duties/assignments as needed.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities:
1. Knowledge of medical records filing systems.
2. Skill in English language, reading, grammar and spelling.
3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with staff.
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
5. Knowledge of medical terminology and contemporary health information management and business practices.
6. Touch typing and familiarity with general office equipment, including photocopier, fax machine, and personal computer (PC) .

Education:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Associates Degree preferred but not required
Experience:
At least 6 year of medical office experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 36 per week
