Job Description:
At Regions, the Business Unit Risk Liaison partners with senior leaders to strengthen the risk management culture across the business units within Regions. This position will work with the Business Unit and the centralized Risk Management department to assist in identifying and assessing the severity and impact of various risks.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as the connection point between business units and Risk Management by fostering partnerships and collaborating as a liaison with other business and functional areas
Assists in providing risk management consultation for risk identification, defines remediation efforts, and evaluates control design and effectiveness for problem/issue mitigation
Utilizes a knowledge of different risk types in identifying which risks could be affected by changes both internally and externally (e.g. new business offerings, retiring of offerings, policies and regulations)
Identifies Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evaluate performance against desired state
Serves as an escalation point to support risk assessments with cross-functional teams to ensure the program is effective and scales across all business units, while understanding, recommending, and presenting leadership with recommendations to resolve any gaps
Develops improvement approaches across the Bank that are holistic, and customer focused
Identifies and helps prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and/or positive customer impact
Continuously monitors control compliance and prevalent risk environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels
May assist in developing metrics, models, and tools to create and analyze risk loss estimates and other capital planning documentation
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industry
Or Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industry
Skills and Competencies
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with different areas of the Bank
Ability to influence executive decision-making and successfully negotiate critical issue resolution related to program initiatives
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and team environment
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Teams, Visio, SharePoint)
Strong analytical ability with a high attention to detail and accuracy in the solving of complex problems/issues
Strong communication, verbal, and organizational skills and the ability to lead meetings, prepare documentation, and balance differing viewpoints
Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver results
Working knowledge of differing risk types, the three lines of defense model, and applicable Enterprise Risk programs
Working knowledge of financial and or non-financial risk management strategies including risk and control self-assessment methodologies, processes, and tools
  • This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
  • While this position will primarily work offsite, associate must be located within a reasonable driving distance (75 miles or less) of Birmingham, AL /Atlanta, GA/ Nashville, TN/ or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates.
Additional job detail for this specific opportunity
This is a new opportunity to join our Cyber Security organization. This Liaison will work with 50-80 associates across Cyber who are also known as Standard Owners/Custodians. In the current structure, the Standard Owner is responsible for the tasks that the Liaison will now be performing. Experience in Cyber Security and/or GRC is not required.
May interface with multiple finding managers across Technology, Operations, Data and Digital (TODD)
The standard owner will work with the Liaison to make sure a finding is input within the issue management system of record GRC
The Liaison will make sure the proper steps within GRC are following in accordance with ERM's issue management SLAs and requirements
For remediation and closure of the finding the Liaison will work with the standard owner to ensure remediation is complete and proper documentation is submitted within GRC and close the finding
The role will require reporting from GRC and escalations to senior management within the TODD structure
The role may require reconciliations from findings to other systems as necessary
This is a new role so there may be opportunities not yet defined

Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
Job Range Target:
Minimum: $58,328.00 USD
Median: $79,100.00 USD
