Position Summary :

Coordinates and facilitates daily operations of the OR Instrument Room. Ensures high quality and compliant output from the department.

Responsible for organizing, implementing, and monitoring of instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes, utilizing Lean methodology for process improvement.

Provides hands-on leadership support and direction to Instrument Room staff. Maintains a direct working relationship with Central Processing, OR Materials and Purchasing.

Maintains a collaborative, service-oriented relationship with OR staff and surgeons.

Work Schedule :

1.00 FTE, M-F Day shift, working supervisor position

Required Qualifications :

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination : Demonstrated experience in central sterile supply and reprocessing. Two years instrument room or operating room experience required.
• Licensure / Registration / Certification : The candidate must present current certification from either CBSPD : . or IAHCSMM : .

or must attain one of these certifications within one year of hire. This certification must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Requires familiarity and compliance with internal policies on employment relationship; FMLA, ADA, Discrimination, Harassment laws.

Requires knowledge of Infection Control principles, AORN and AAMI standards.

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination : Leadership experience highly preferred
