Job Title : Environmental Services Technician

Job Summary :
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for all cleaning of the facility and routine maintenance of cleaning equipment used.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
Keeps all areas of the facility maintained by cleaning furniture, bathrooms, patient rooms, waiting rooms, conference rooms, hallways, stairs, elevators, floors, carpets, windows, etc.
Ensures equipment is available for daily work duties and is cleaned and properly stored after use.
Reports burned out light bulbs, spots on ceiling, broken equipment or other findings to Facility Services.
Assures that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies is maintained in utility / janitorial closets to perform daily tasks.
Assists in training of co-workers and attends service area meetings.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Maintains confidentiality of the organization and patients.
Reports any health / medical errors.
Observes all Environment of Care policies and reports safety risks or hazards immediately.
Education, Training or Degree Required :
Must be able to read, write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions accurately.
License / Registration / Certification Required : (will be primary source verified by HR)

Experience and Skills : (indicate preferred or required)
Knowledge of housekeeping and equipment maintenance is preferred.
Previous experience working as a housekeeper, janitor, or custodian is preferred.
General knowledge of furniture, floor and wall cleaning is required.
Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness is required.
Accuracy in following written and verbal orders is required.
