Title: Charge Registered Nurse- RN
Shift(s)/FTE: 0.75 FTE, straight nights

Unit: Medical Progressive Care- Patients on this 16-bed unit requiring progressive care services will have medical diagnoses such as respiratory failure, sepsis/shock states, gastrointestinal complications, liver failure, renal failure, pharmacologic overdoses, alcohol withdrawal, psychiatric and endocrine emergencies.

Qualifications:
•Degree in Nursing •Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota

Two years of RN experience
CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications:

BSN/MSN strongly preferred
5 or more years nursing experience in the hospital setting
ICU RN experience is strongly preferred

Duties:

In collaboration with the Nurse Manager/Supervisor, leads nursing care staff in providing patient centered, safe, effective, equitable, timely and efficient patient care based on the specific needs of the patient populations served.
Participates in and leads patient care staff in providing patient and family centered service
Maintains and updates clinical knowledge including certification(s) as appropriate.
Participates as an effective unit and nursing department member.
Support the recruitment and retention of a qualified workforce to meet patient care and service needs of the unit.
Leads daily operations within established budget.
Participates and provides leadership for service and patient care improvement initiatives.
Functions under the RN job description to provide direct patient care to patients on the unit and maintains clinical knowledge and current nursing competencies for nursing care provided on the unit.
Establishes and maitains effective, collaborative working relationships with other health care team members and across the organization.
