JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for timely delivery and retrieval of patient trays and nourishments. Communicates patient needs to tray line, diet office, dietitians and nursing staff. Processes patient food preferences and allergies in the dietitian office. Monitors floor stock and maintains par levels. MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Computer, 10-key calculator and other general office machines and equipment. Coffee machine, steam table, brewers, lowerators, ware washing machine, serving utensils and dishes, cleaning materials, tray carts, and other general kitchen and cleaning equipment. JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with school age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population. EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months experience in institutional food service in a health care setting with therapeutic diet experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to enter and retrieve information utilizing patient care computer system. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment and exhibit customer service skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged, walking, stooping, lifting and pushing. Manual dexterity to perform job requirements; frequent exposure to heat, humidity and freezing temperatures. Medium Work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.")
